And the Japanese Grand Prix Winner Is…
Although the F1 Japanese Grand Prix is still a few days away (October 8, 2010), it looks like Audemars Piguet has already unveiled the winner — the new Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli limited edition! Man, what a great looking Audemars Piguet ROO this is! Aside from the well-chosen dial colors and forged carbon case, you should also appreciate this timepieces’ titanium and sapphire crystal caseback through which its AP Caliber 3126 movement and anthracite-grey galvanic coated oscillating weight (22K gold) can be ogled. Price is $28,900 — a real steal compared to the $215,000 sales price of the last Audemars Piguet that Jarno Trulli associated his name with (yes, you want to click-through if you haven’t seen it)
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore “Jarno Trulli” Edition
42mm forged carbon case (15.65mm thick), cermet bezel, titanium crown/pushers, Automatic Calibre 3126/3840, black rubber strap with sand-blasted titanium clasp
This new model, issued in a worldwide limited edition of 500, is now available at the Audemars Piguet Boutique in Ginza — part of an exclusive launch in Japan prior to its international release in coming months.

Although not as bold, I find this watch to be more desirable than the AP ROO Rubens Barrichello and Juan Pablo Montoya editions from years back.
